“It’s a great feeling to be able to discover a band right at the start of their journey, and that’s the case with Singapore’s latest alternative band Blush. Based around the ethereal, butterfly vocals of the group’s front woman, the hazy indie sound is given a husky rock boost by the powerful drumming, while the guitars create an atmospheric melodic ocean of fuzzy chords to audibly swim through.”

Take a deep dive into the slow waters of Singapore-based alt-rock band, Blush. Anchored in the poeticism of emotions, the band’s hallmark is their distinctive, if abstract, marriage of slowcore and contemporary indie rock. This is tied by the common thread of wistful bliss and offhand sentimentality, though the band is not afraid to turn up the volume too: ubiquitous to Blush’s sonics are a crescendo fuzz that’s thick as syrup, and as cathartic as it is cacophonic. This is a band for those who find themselves drawn to acts like Girlpool, Duster, Yuck, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Stars.
A “superband” of sorts with members hailing from various established Singapore music acts, Blush made their electrifying debut in 2021 at Singapore’s largest alternative music festival, Baybeats. Since then, the band has steadily made their presence known in Singapore’s music circuit, opening for international alt-rock and dream-pop bands Softcult and Turnover. This past summer, the band performed several shows in Tokyo, supporting indie trailblazers Sobs and Forests while also headlining their own show with To’morrow Records. As of June 2023, Blush is signed with No Sleep Records.
Join the band as they mark the release of their debut album, Supercrush, alongside special guest performers CURB and Microchip Terror.
