Chinese Dance Fiesta 2024: Performance

Every year since 2015, Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre (SCDT) organises the Chinese Dance Fiesta to bring the local Chinese dance community together, with the goal of deepening the public’s understanding and appreciation of Chinese dance. 

Happening from 26 Apr – 5 May 2024, look forward to a series of mesmerising dance performances, educational talks and demonstration sessions, as well as an inspiring masterclass. In addition to the dance performances at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre at Esplanade, there will also be showcases held at VivoCity Amphitheatre (26 Apr 2024), Our Tampines Hub Festive Plaza (27 Apr 2024), and Bedok Town Square (28 Apr 2024).

In the spirit of sharing the diversity and vibrancy of Chinese dance with the community, the performances will be free for all to enjoy.

Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre (SCDT) was founded in 1990 by Founding Artistic Director Madam Lim Moi Kim. The company started out as an avocational troupe offering Chinese dance training for passionate learners.

Over the years, the troupe put up many outstanding works that have left an indelible impression on its audiences both locally and abroad. In recognition of its enduring influence in the local arts scene, SCDT received support from the National Arts Council and officially became a professional dance company in 2014.

Currently led by Artistic Director Madam Neo Jenny, SCDT envisions itself to be a professional dance company that epitomises the promotion of Chinese dance through artistic and creative excellence, as well as nurturing young, promising dancers to continue its efforts.
