Drawing from the visceral nature of ‘80s new wave and post-punk, Singapore-based artist Sun Cell explores themes of yearning, retrospection and melancholia through lush soundscapes, catchy guitar riffs and wistful lyricism. Having first cut his teeth in the music scene as a producer for the likes of RENE and Royal Estate, artist-producer Daryl Hor debuted his solo project Sun Cell in 2022, pulling fans in with music imbued with a sense of nostalgia and longing for days to come.
To commemorate the launch of his debut album Movements (In The Dark), Sun Cell presents a dynamic two-part performance that feature two distinct visual themes, each one representing the two sides of the album which, taken as a whole, is a tribute to the story of his grandparents. The show will be opened by shoegaze act Nosedive, with appearances by guest artists featured on his debut album.
Come ride the peaks and valleys of life in this debut headline show by Sun Cell, one night only at Esplanade Annexe Studio!

A four-piece band from Singapore with a blend of dreamy girl-boy vocals and coming-of-age lyrical musings that shines through the wall of noise. Poetic yet straightforward, Nosedive contrasts their twinkly, shimmery verses with ear-crushing choruses and melodic lead lines.
