Nyoombaku
Instagram | YouTube | Facebook | TikTok
Amalyn, aka Nyoombaku, picked up her love for J-pop during the pandemic quarantine blues. You would think that Nyoombaku is a Japanese-inspired name, but in fact, she took inspiration from Mbaku, her favourite Black Panther character. So where does “Nyoom” come from? Nyoom doesn’t know. What Nyoom can tell you though, is that she produces on the side on a Spotify page filled with lo-fi beats.
JLPiano
Sean Chen, who goes by the online alias JLPiano, uses “JL” as an abbreviation of his initials, for anyone who might be wondering. He streams on Twitch as JLPiano, taking song requests and playing them by ear (he wishes his sight-reading skills were as impressive). His favourite genres include jazz, Japanese-pop and retro.
