Synopsis

Formed by three young musicians, Paheli (meaning riddle or enigma in Hindi) brings a bilingual performance to the stage. True to their name, the band presents an eclectic mix of music genres such as soul-pop, ballads, jazz and classical pieces, as well as Bollywood themes.

Deethya Ganesh

Deethya is a 21-year-old Singaporean musician. She began her musical journey at age five, learning Indian classical music and teaching herself to play the guitar and ukulele.

 

She regularly performs with four different music groups in National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, as well as on social media platforms.

 

She has explored genres like pop, R&B and soul in both Western and Indian contexts. She enjoys exploring fusion music that marries genres, languages, and tones across various cultures.

Shantanu Modak

Shantanu Modak started learning piano at the age of nine from Mrs. Renu Suresh at the Temple of Fine Arts. He is formally trained in Western classical music and has completed his ABRSM Grade 8 Exam. He has also performed Indian as well as fusion music as part of various productions at the Temple of Fine Arts. Shantanu is a member of the NUS Indian Instrumental Ensemble, where he plays the keyboard in a variety of styles ranging from Indian classical to contemporary music.

Arnold Lek

Arnold Lek is a self-taught guitarist and a lover of all things music. As a current undergraduate at NUS, he is a member of NUS Amplified where he plays a wide range of genres, primarily focusing on funk and rock music.
