Synopsis

"The best guitar player I’ve heard in maybe my entire life is floating around now, Pasquale Grasso"Pat Metheny

Listening to Pasquale Grasso’s trio is akin to experiencing the virtuosity of the mid-century jazz masters—the ones heard on haloed vinyl records—in the flesh. His astounding technique is informed by bebop pioneers like Powell, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie as well as the classical-guitar tradition. These influences meld into a signature mastery that is, remarkably, at once unprecedented and evocative.

Don't miss the chance to experience his captivating artistry.

In a 2016 Vintage Guitar interview, jazz legend Pat Metheny lauded Pasquale Grasso as "the best guitar player" he'd heard. Grasso's distinctive approach, heavily influenced by bebop pioneer Bud Powell, captivated Metheny, leading to a mentorship and musical collaboration between the two. Based in New York City, Grasso's upcoming digital EP series, supported by Sony Masterworks, showcases his solo guitar mastery, blending mid-century jazz with classical influences akin to jazz virtuosos Joe Pass and Art Tatum. Grasso's journey, intertwined with saxophonist brother Luigi's, began in Italy and flourished in New York City's jazz scene. Grasso's reputation has soared and is marked by victories in prestigious competitions and performances at renowned venues like Mezzrow.
