Discover your inner clown in this introductory workshop! Learn how to tap into your childlike wonder, authenticity and vulnerability to create an engaging clown performance.
Through a series of playful games and improvisations, the workshop will also introduce participants to elements of physical comedy, the history of clowns, and the comedic gags of the red-nose clown. This workshop will empower participants with the ability to laugh at themselves, think quickly on their feet, embrace failures, and build empathy and sincere connections with their community.
This workshop is for anyone interested in building a playful and honest connection with themselves and others through clowning. As this workshop will be a highly physical one, participants are advised to dress comfortably and to be ready to immerse themselves in the playful world of clowning.
Please meet at the Esplanade Box Office and Visitor Centre (Mezzanine Level) for admission to this workshop as the public entrance to the Rehearsal Studio via the Theatre Studio is temporarily closed.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the workshop as patrons who arrive after the workshop has started will not be admitted into the venue.
