Synopsis

Choose from any of the three different sessions and discover your creativity through self-guided craft activities inspired by Chinese culture!

 

• Create an artwork using Chinese brush technique that is inspired by Chinese ink paintings and learn the basics of using a brush pen before making your own original artwork.

 

• Create a mosaic inspired by the patterns of flowers, birds and Chinese landscapes. Choose from a range of subjects including still life, landscapes and outdoor scenes, and use different colours and shapes to create a unique piece of artwork.

 

• Using an ancient enamel technique called Chinese cloisonné, explore colours and patterns. Be inspired by images of four objects from the Qing and Ming dynasties, and use colours and different materials to add texture to your black-and-white template.

 

Prior to the start of each session, a brief introduction to the history of Chinese culture will be shared.

Cinnamon Creative Sessions are workshops for children aged four to nine, designed to encourage creativity, stimulate curiosity and develop critical thinking skills. Inspired by publications from cinnamon art stories, our sessions allow children to express themselves, and bring their imagination to life through fun activities and shared conversations.
