Synopsis

The dhol is a drum widely used in India, and can be found in various regions such as Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan and many more. It has also found popularity worldwide through modern Punjabi music. Learn some history as well as the basics of playing this double-headed drum in this workshop for all ages.

Yaar Panj-aab Phangra (YPP) was founded in 2010 by a group of young dancers, who came together with the goal of bringing Bhangra to a wider audience. Since then, they have been very successful in sharing their culture all over Singapore and Asia. YPP has been innovators in modern Bhangra with creative styles fused with traditional foundation. The group aims to showcase their culture with current modern moves to be on par with Bhangra troupes the world over.
