Step into the captivating world of Dunhuang dance and experience a breathtaking fusion of Chinese and Indian artistic traditions.
Renowned for its graceful movements and elaborate hand gestures, Dunhuang dance originates from the ancient city of Dunhuang. Drawing inspiration from the flowing figures and celestial beings depicted in the frescoes of its Mogao Caves, this elegant art form beautifully embodies Buddhist motifs and spiritual themes.
In this introductory workshop, gain a foundational understanding of Dunhuang dance and get a taste of the artistry involved. Beginners or those simply intrigued by the art form will have a unique opportunity to discover its charm while learning fundamental techniques.
This workshop is conducted by Ms Li Qian, a distinguished lecturer from the Dance Academy of Northwest Minzu University in China.
This event is presented by SCDT in collaboration with Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay & MUZI XIHUA.
Limited slots available.
