Backstage Pass with...

Specially for our 15th anniversary in 2017, and in collaboration with arts publication The A List, we presented eight fundraising tours for avid supporters who were curious about what goes on behind-the-scenes at Esplanade. Each tour could accommodate up to 20 people for a minimum donation of $100 per person. 

These special tours were led by prominent Singapore artists who have performed in our venues—well-loved actors Hossan Leong and Siti Khalijah, indie music darling Inch Chua and one of Singapore’s best-known jazz vocalists, Rani Singam, as well as veteran Esplanade staff who are responsible for keeping the arts centre running like clockwork, including then-CEO Benson Puah. 

These weekly tours, which were well-received, took place from October to December 2017, and saw 96 patrons exploring backstage areas rarely visited by the general public as well as spaces that hold special memories to the artists and Esplanade staff guiding the tours. 

A total of $13,200 was raised. All proceeds from Backstage Pass with… went towards fundraising for the construction of Esplanade’s waterfront theatre.
