The Victoria Junior College Symphonic Band (VJCSB) is back with another edition of Limelight!
Since its formation in 1984, VJCSB has pursued musical excellence by aiming to foster the musical proficiency of its members and cultivate a lifelong passion for music-making. To achieve this, VJCSB regularly stages public performances and ensures a high standard of performance by consistently achieving certificates of distinction in the Singapore Arts Presentation.
In this year’s edition of Limelight, VJCSB presents an unforgettable night of music. Under the baton of conductor Adrian Chiang, the band will start the night with the fast-paced and energetic Ride by Samuel R. Hazo, leading into beloved tunes from the internationally acclaimed musical, Phantom of the Opera, as well as music from Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke. As these familiar tunes weave through the evening, listen out for the heart-wrenching story of Princess Joruri in Tears of Princess Joruri. Finally, dance the night away to the groove of Cuban dance music from the orchestral classic, Danzon no. 2, as well as music from pop favourites, Adele and NewJeans.
Bringing the arts to communities in need through Limelight
Half of the ticket proceeds will go toward supporting Esplanade’s community engagement programmes which bring the arts to at-risk youth, the elderly, people with special needs and other underserved communities.
