Synopsis

Join in an exclusive tour of Esplanade’s different performance venues, and watch a street dance performance at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre with ScRach MarcS and pick up a few street dance moves to groove to. Learn about the different musical cultures with Open Score Project through various workshops. Experience the value of teamwork in an angklung ensemble and put your rhythmic skills to the test as you explore traditional Chinese and Indian percussion instruments. 

 

Learning Objectives

  • Learn about the evolution of street dance and perform some dance steps

  • Appreciate how melody and harmony work together in an angklung ensemble

  • Explore traditional Chinese and Indian percussion instruments and perform body percussion

  • Explore the different performing spaces of Esplanade
