Synopsis

Haunted corridors and toilet cubicles... every school has its fair share of urban myths and ghost stories, passed down carefully over generations. Beyond the paranormal, what are some other visible and invisible ways in which fear is being manifested within the school compounds?

 

Directed by Han Xuemei, recipient of the Young Artist Award 2021, Assembly follows Sha, Cydnee and Joe, three teenage students with their own struggles in school. Besides keeping up with grades and dealing with peer pressure, something strange is also happening in the art room... 

Advisory:

Assembly covers issues related to suicide, bullying and eating disorders, which may cause discomfort to certain individuals.

 

The performance takes place in low light conditions, and in a format that requires the audience to walk or stand throughout.

 

The play includes mentions of hauntings and the supernatural, parental discretion is advised.

 

Mask-wearing is required for all indoor events


Several roads around Esplanade will be closed from 3pm – 10.30pm, every Sat from 2 – 23 Jul, due to rehearsals for National Day Parade 2022. Read more
