Synopsis

Imagine being able to watch a performance, participate in a workshop, and explore a performance venue—all in a single day! Join us for Day Out! @ Esplanade, an exciting programme packed with dance and musical experiences you would not want to miss!

 

Jump right into a fun and energising performance by ScRach MarcS and friends at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre and learn about different street dance styles, starting from the 1970s to ’80s funk and soul era to current trendy dance moves while picking up a step or two yourself. Next, immerse yourself in an interactive music workshop where you will learn about how traditional instruments from different musical cultures in Singapore can come together in harmony! You will also get to join us on a tour of Esplanade and gain insights into the meticulous design of this world-class performing arts centre.

 

Learning Objectives

  • Gain an understanding of the history of street dance and perform some iconic moves.

  • Experience traditional instruments from different cultures and learn about each unique musical style.

  • Explore the design features of Esplanade and its performing arts venues.
