Synopsis

Experience the spontaneity of flamenco parties and Spanish celebrations at FIESTA FLAMENCA!, an interactive dance gathering bursting with infectious energy!

 

Get to know how flamenco performers communicate and improvise on stage, and discover the essential styles of por fiesta dances where dancers jam with singers and guitarists in the spirit of improvisation and fun. Catch the styles of tangos, bulerias and sevillanas, a famous dance performed at Seville’s famous cultural and colourful party, the Feria de Abril.

 

This programme is part of da:ns focus – Salero Flamenco, a weekend which embraces the passion, soul and fervour of flamenco dance performed by some of the best musicians and dancers worldwide, as well as flamenco practitioners and aficionados in Singapore.

Spanish Dance Singapore (SDS) is a school and performing ensemble founded by Tania Goh, who is an arts producer, dancer and teacher. Based between Singapore and Seville, she has worked with Spanish artists for over 15 years to transmit their art internationally. With close connection to Spain, SDS loves to share the richness of dances from Spain and their culture, focusing on four key genres: heart-stirring flamenco, elegant classical Spanish dance, balletic Escuela Bolera and spirited Spanish folk.

 

The diversity of Spanish dance offers you plenty of ways to explore your personality and express your unique self!

 

The school’s activities include dance education, cultural and outreach programmes, performances, artistic collaborations and workshops with maestros from Spain.
