Lorjhu’ explores fundamental sounds from traditional Madurese scales and nuances, presenting them with a contemporary twist. Madurese is preserved as the language of these songs that echo maritime themes such as ocean myths and sea folklore. Lorjhu’ will be performing original music from their album while also sharing selected chants from the rich folklore of the Madurese people.
No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lorjhu'
Formed in late 2019, Lorjhu', led by Badrus Zeman, gained momentum with its debut single Nemor released at the onset of the pandemic in 2020. The solo project continued to soar, maintaining a consistent concept and format by infusing traditional Madura sounds with modern musical elements.
In 2022, Lorjhu’ transformed into a trio consisting of Badrus Zeman (vocals & guitar), Gaharaiden Soetansyah (drums), and Insan Negara (bass guitar). Throughout its journey, Lorjhu' has released albums themed around the coastal regions, depicting life and nature in these areas of Madura. The first album they released as a group was Paseser , followed by the second album Parenduan at the end of 2023.
