Synopsis

Translating into “Southern Beach Tunes”, Irama Pantai Selantan is a duo that plays a genre they call maritime pop, which has heavy tropical influences. In this showcase, the duo will showcase their songs from their first album, Dendang Samudra, alongside new tracks from their upcoming EP.

 

Their music promises to bring back the vibes of from the era of the ‘50s and ‘60s, with traditional music instruments and cover songs of an old Indonesia music genre called lenso, to further up the vintage feel of their set.

Established in 2017, Irama Pantai Selatan comprises Arief Fauzan and Sigit Ezra, a ukulele duo who’s played their own genre called “maritime pop, a genre similar to Indonesia’s lenso of the 1950s-60s, which revolved around themes of coastal life and , the sea. 

 

Now, they are back with a new format for live performances known as orkes menyiur, meant to lighten up their show.
