Based on a series of linocut art by drummer Neill Gautier’s grandfather, Fernand Gautier, this performance uses visual art as a starting point for musical exchange. Among the collection is the piece souvenir du futur which sets the stage for exploring the idea of paradoxes.
Through a blend of composition and improvisation, the duo interprets these linocuts through sound. A dialogue between visual art and contemporary music is created by the percussive energy of the drums and the elegance of the guzheng.
