Shahril Samri, founder of Pantunism, is dedicated to reviving and reimagining the art of pantun for modern audiences. As a writer, performer and educator, Shahril blends classical Malay poetry with contemporary themes to keep the tradition alive and engaging. Through Pantunism, he champions pantun as a living art form bridging cultures and sparking conversations. This showcase also features emerging talents from the Singapore Polytechnic Malay Language Society, nurturing the next generation of voices to carry pantun forward in fresh, creative ways.
