Mahogany Journal presents Calling +65 South Asian Voices, a sublime night of poetry and prose.
Join six talented +65 South Asian writers for a reading of diverse pieces published in Mahogany Journal, alongside other works from their personal portfolios.
Poets Nitya Nedyam, Subash Kumar, and Tarini Tilve will perform in the first set from 6.45pm to 7.15pm.
Fictionists Anittha Thanabalan, Anusha and Gayathrii Nathan will perform in the second set from 7.45pm to 8.15pm.

Co-founded by Prasanthi Ram and Jaryl George Solomon in 2020, Mahogany Journal is an online literary journal that focuses on spotlighting South Asian writers born or based in Singapore. Till date, the journal has published five issues and over 40 writers, emerging and established. At the start of 2025, Mahogany Journal was awarded the Jalan Besar Fellowship under Sing Lit Station.
Nitya Nedyam
Nitya is a Singaporean poet. Her poems have been published in Mahogany Journal, Issue 5 (2024), as well as Offshoots 15 (2020), Offerings III (2021), and Offerings: A Spiritual Poetry Anthology from Tiferet Journal (2022). Her poem Self-Portrait was a winner at the Poetry Festival Singapore’s Catharsis 2021 competition and appears in What We Inherit: Growing Up Indian (2022).
Subash Rethina Kumar
Subash is a writer who meditates on the intersection between culture and gender. His prose poetry works—Odours of Jasmine, Choke, and Dippam Dappam—have been featured in Mahogany Journal. He is currently working on a prose-poetry collection centered around South Asian queer experiences in Singapore.
Tarini Tilve
Tarini is a writer with an interest in identity, technology and horror. Apart from her prose poem in Mahogany Journal, Dead Tongue, her short story—entitled Garuda—was also published in sploosh! Magazine. She is currently working on expanding her short story into a novella.
Anusha
Anusha has published two short stories in Mahogany Journal—Number One and Ang Ku Kueh Angel. She is currently working on a series of short stories exploring human consciousness and desires. She dares you to tell her aliens aren’t real.
Anittha Thanabalan
Anittha has written two short stories for Mahogany Journal—Sacred Scalp and The House of Wind. The latter inspired a third piece published in the short story anthology How We Live Now. Anittha is currently working on her third novel, It Had to Be Him.
