Synopsis

SIYOC, the youth wing of Singapore Indian Orchestra & Choir, brings to the audience a delightful musical evening by performing timeless gems from our 39-year-old bespoke repertoire.

Some of the highlights of today’s concert are:

A musical piece featuring beautiful harmonic changes creating an illusion of reflections.

A cross-culture special musical element with a judicial blending of Indian and Chinese music styles, reflecting the uniqueness of Singapore’s multi-cultural diversity.

The Singapore Indian Orchestra & Choir (SIOC) is a 39-year-old performing arts group and one of the world’s largest semi-professional groups, showcasing the richness of Indian music with its wide range of traditional and contemporary repertoire. It also brings to audiences the multi-cultural vibrance that Singapore is well known for.

It has been SIOC’s goal to prepare the next generation of musicians to take its journey and legacy forward. From this vision, was born the youth wing, the Singapore Indian Youth Orchestra & Choir (SIYOC), which has successfully completed not only two enthralling concerts but also several community concerts across Singapore and five digital productions—a feat accomplished in two years of the formation of the youth wing.
