Be dazzled by the brightest musical talents from Singapore in a diverse classical music repertoire ranging from Sibelius’s hauntingly beautiful and exciting Violin Concerto, to the evergreen Symphonie Espagnole by Lalo, Ysaye’s virtuosic Sonata No.3 for solo violin and Dvorak’s Violin Concerto.
No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Aidan James Kwek
Aidan is a dedicated musician who started playing the violin at the age of four. He became a student at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts School of Young Talents at the age of four, before proceeding to take private lessons with Loh Jun Hong in late 2019. He is a member of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra and has also performed solo with the Singapore Youth Sinfonia. His accomplishments include prizes in international music competitions, achieving distinctions in both violin and piano ABRSM Grade 8 exams.
Giselle Ang Zi Qi
Giselle began her musical studies at the age of four at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts School of Young Talents. She is a member of the Singapore Youth Sinfonia and was one of the top 15 violinists in the 2023 National Piano & Violin Competition, Junior Category. She is also a prizewinner in numerous international and local competitions including King’s Peak International, Nomea, String Avenue International, Vienna Virtuoso, London Young Musician, Singapore Violin Festival, Raffles International.
Low Peng Guan
Low Peng Guan is the winner of the 2023 National Piano & Violin Competition, Senior Category. He started the violin at the tender age of three. His natural flair for musicianship and leadership saw him leading his school string ensemble in Catholic High School till he left for his secondary school studies at Raffles Institution, where he is currently enrolled in the Music Elective Programme.
Teia Lee
Teia started learning the violin at four years of age. Teia was a member of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra in Phoenix, Arizona and is the current leader of the Raffles Girl’s School String Ensemble. She has also clinched awards in violin competitions including 1st Prize of the 2022 Salzburg Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition and the Gold award at the Singapore International Chinese Competition. She was also a semi-finalist in the Junior Category of the National Violin and Piano Competition in 2019, and one of the top 12 violinists in the Intermediate Category in 2023.
