Lights, Camera, Strings!

St. Margaret’s Secondary School String Ensemble was formed in 2003. Since then, it has provided many students with the opportunity to develop a passion for music. Under the baton of its conductor, Mr Siew Yi Li, the ensemble has grown in strength and currently has about 40 members.

Over the years, other than performing in many of the school’s events, charity concerts and recitals, the St. Margaret’s Secondary String Ensemble had also performed at various platforms such as the “In Youthful Company” series at the Esplanade Concourse, the Singapore Anglican Community 50th Anniversary Dinner and the ‘Art of Healing” series at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The ensemble had participated at the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation for the past years and had obtained the Distinction award in 2019 and 2021 and the Accomplishment award in 2023.
