Reggae Remedy was born and nurtured in Singapore in 2016, playing ska, rocksteady, dancehall and reggae music from Jamaica. Inspired by Bob Marley and The Wailers, The Skatalites, John Holt, Peter Tosh, Jacob Miller, Alton Ellis and Toots and The Maytals, the group has developed a distinctive blend of roots reggae, rocksteady, soul and rock for a fresh yet universal sound.
The band has toured Malaysia and Vietnam, supporting Indonesian reggae and ska singer Denny Frust, Singapore’s hip-hop reggae artist Masia one, Indonesian reggae ambassador Ras Muhammad and German reggae artist Toke. In 2018, Reggae Remedy released their debut EP, Bersedia, for the Malaysian market.
Reggae Remedy has performed at notable venues such as Singapore’s Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Paulaneer at Clarke Quay, Canvas Club, Camp Kilo, Tanjong Beach Club, Montreal Jazz Cafe, Rumours Beach Club, The Projector and BluJaz.
