A Symphony of Christmas Magic

MacPherson Philharmonic Orchestra (MPPO) is a vibrant community orchestra based in Singapore, operating under the MacPherson Community Centre. Established in 2017, MPPO serves as a platform for musicians of all levels to grow, connect, and give back to the community through the universal language of music.

What began as a group of 40 passionate musicians has now grown to a thriving ensemble of 70 members, encompassing individuals from diverse walks of life, including students, educators, and seasoned professional musicians. Despite the range of backgrounds and varying levels of musical expertise, all members share a common commitment to music. They devote their time to regular rehearsals—typically once or twice a week—fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie within the orchestra.

MPPO’s mission is to promote and nurture a deep appreciation for music, both within the orchestra and the broader community. Through performances, outreach programmes, and collaborative events, the orchestra strives to inspire interest in music, cultivate artistic development, and make music accessible to everyone, showcasing it as a powerful and universal means of communication.
