Polka Wars

Since debuting in 2011, Polka Wars’ meteoric rise has seen them become one of the most exciting forces in the Indonesian independent music scene. The band consists of Giovanni Rahmadeva on drums, Karaeng Adjie on vocals and guitar, and Xandega Tahajuansya on bass.

Polka Wars had their big break when they won the Converse Rubbertracks competition in 2014, which gave them a chance to record three songs at Rubber Track's flagship studio in New York. The year after, they were shortlisted by Rolling Stone as one of Indonesia's Young Guns. The release of their debut album Axis Mundi was certified gold in Indonesia.

In 2016, they released an EP titled E P / N Y which included songs that they recorded in New York back in 2014. The single, Rangkum, was chosen as the best song of 2017 by Rolling Stone Indonesia.

After releasing their sophomore album Bani Bumi in 2019 to rave reviews, they are gearing to kickstart their activities once again after a two-year hiatus with two new singles, Tien Shinhan and Phases of Hue, which thus also marks their new phase as a trio.
