Synopsis

Catch local pop artist Dominic Chin perform some of his upbeat tunes like BETTER and CRY from his album License To Cry that was released in the pandemic & some of his newer irresistible earworms, IYKYK and HASTE. In the spirit of the patriotic month of August, join Dominic in singing some of his favourite National Day songs from his childhood. Known for covering pop songs in his youth on YouTube, this performance journeys Dominic’s growth from covering pop songs to writing his own.

Singapore-based pop artist Dominic Chin creates music with his distinct vocals and a blend of electro-pop, soul and R&B. Fuelled by life and all its awkward contradictions, Dominic pens songs that resonate deeply with his audience. Having covered songs on YouTube since 2010, his channel has amassed more than 9.58K subscribers, over 2M views & he has since performed on stages like The Star Vista, Indoor Stadium, Istana & Sands Theatre. After the viral success of You First Believed, a tribute song he wrote for Singapore’s founding father Lee Kuan Yew in 2014, he was inspired to write more originals for himself. In 2020, he released his debut EP Licence To Cry, garnering over 1M streams worldwide, and held a sold-out concert, Re:Licence To Cry, in 2021 at the Esplanade Recital Studio.
