What happens when a dancer who resonates with the common underground root unearths her deep whims and fancies to wax lyrical through poetry and movement? Meditative, sensitive, and at times playful, Jialing delves into how being a potato can be a way of life. In each small roll forward, she celebrates her being—roots, shoots, the occasional nightshade bloom and more. In this short set, spoken word is set to movement and perhaps, you too can have a hand in shaping how this kentang becomes fries.
No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Neo Jialing
Neo Jialing is, among many things, an artist, maker, poet, dancer and potato, with a BA(Hons) in Dance from LASALLE College of the Arts. Her works are centered in somatic, lived experiences, wherefrom she strives to create and share safe spaces, transcending atypical notions of dance whether through spoken word or as a moving body. An active educator and creator for young audiences, Jialing helps with the facilitation of programmes and performs on a project-basis, predominantly for Derring-Do Dance along with their Rolypoly Family wing, and The Kueh Tutus.
