Embark on a journey through the realms of instrumental Middle Eastern music, and let the ensemble’s original compositions weave waves of emotions.

 

While no kahva nor chai will be served, the evening promises an intoxicating blend of sounds that will tantalise your auditory palate.

Artist Information

Zakhrafa

Zakhrafa means “ornamentation”, and in music, it is the practice of adding embellishments to a plain melody.

 

Led by Azrin Abdullah, the Zakhrafa Takht Ensemble comprises classical Middle Eastern music practitioners from Singapore who perform classic and modern Middle Eastern tunes, as well as original compositions on exotic traditional instruments such as the oud and qanun.
