Soulful Strains: Richie x Norman

Richie El is a local indie singer-songwriter and performer currently active in Singapore’s music scene. He released his first EP, Overdue, in July 2022 and showcases his strong love for popular music from the ’60s with doo-wop harmonies, simple structures and pretty melodies. 

Norman Yeo is a Singaporean singer-songwriter and guitarist. With a signature sound of being raw and heartfelt, his music draws influences from modern blues rock, R&B, soul and folk artists like John Mayer, Bruno Major, HONNE, Ariel Posen and Damien Rice. Norman has also co-produced and released two singles in 2022, titled Time To Go Home and See You Later on all major streaming platforms. 

Having crossed paths while studying music and audio technology at Singapore Polytechnic, Richie and Norman have always been passionate about writing songs. Although they’ve known each other for 10 years, they’ve only recently started performing together. Both had their original songs recorded in the same studio with local producer Tropic J, who also studied music alongside Richie and Norman.
