Synopsis

Dua Empat combines jazz arrangements with the timeless melodies of Christmas songs such as Jingle Bells, Christmas Time Is Here, Holly Jolly Christmas and Let It Snow. Their band’s formation comprises a guitar duo and a vocalist, which creates a simple yet powerful musical experience. This trio formation ensures that each element of their music is harmoniously balanced and delivers a captivating live performance.

Hailing from Indonesia, Dua Empat is a jazz guitar duo comprising Alvin Ghazalie and Misi Lesar. Their passion for music inspired them to proliferate jazz music amongst Indonesia’s youth. Four of their albums Two Of A Kind (2017), Swinging Down The Chimney (2017), Head In The Clouds (2021) and Some Of My Best Friends Are Jazz Cats! (2023) were received with tremendous enthusiasm by audiences and opened up opportunities to collaborate with other artists. One of their songs from Swinging Down The Chimney was nominated for the AMI awards in 2018 and their latest album Some Of My Best Friends Are Jazz Cats! was nominated in two categories at the AMI Awards 2023. For the past few years, Dua Empat has performed at several festivals in Indonesia and Asia, namely Singapore Jazz Festival, Java Jazz Festival, Jazz Gunung, Ubud Jazz, Joey Alexander Asia Tour, Ngayog Jazz and Jazz Goes To Campus.
