Synopsis

Join Melissa Fitzgerald and Harris Hamzah for a night as they lead a tribute to Singapore’s ’60s favourites, The Thunderbirds. Both active performers and local music veterans, the two have an affinity for the band, with Melissa being the daughter of the band’s guitarist—the late Derrick Fitzgerald—and Harris having shared the stage with Derrick for nearly 40 years. The show will also feature special guest Heather Batchen, songstress and a frequent collaborator of The Thunderbirds.

 

Expect to hear The Thunderbirds’ hit song My Lonely Heart as well as other age-old favourites from The Beatles, Bee Gees, ABBA, Led Zeppelin and more!

The Thunderbirds

Formed in 1962 and anchored by lead guitarist Derrick Fitzgerald, The Thunderbirds was one of the longest running bands in Singapore, having played for almost two decades at the Carriage Bar at York Hotel. The band is best known for its original hit songs My Lonely Heart and You Were Made for Me To Love.

 

The Thunderbirds was formed with Tony Chong, Harvey Fitzgerald, Freddie Tan and Derrick Fitzgerald.
