Harith knows his Bollywood inside out. He can tell his Amrita Rao from his Amrita Arora, his Rimi Sen from his Sushmita Sen. He knows Duggu, Lolo, and Bebo like they're old friends. He’s memorised the Navarasas, the Ankhein Khuli choreography by the beat, and every lyric of Bholi Si Surat. But there’s one thing he isn’t: Indian.
Drawing from his own real-life experiences, Hafidz Rahman crafts and delivers a captivating monologue about his own obsession with Indian cinema, reflecting on the commonalities of Malay and Indian identities, navigating racial dynamics in Singapore, and ultimately celebrating brown identity in all its multi-faceted nature. Expect humour, heart and a whole lot of film references in this interactive one-man show, where Hafidz’s magnetic performance will be supported by colourful sound, set and visual design.
Samosas sold separately.
