In this exciting collaboration, The SEEDLINGS—an enthusiastic group of children aged seven to 12—work closely with an artist to devise a unique performance. Artist Information

The SEEDLINGS

The SEEDLINGS are a group of enthusiastic and diverse children aged seven to 12 years, united by their interest in the arts. They are brought together through the SEEDLINGS programme to engage and respond to Esplanade’s March On festival for young audiences. In sessions leading up to the festival, The SEEDLINGS participate in a wide range of activities, including workshops, games, artist dialogues, open rehearsals, and festival programmes. They also take on creative roles, such as planning activities or designing exhibits inspired by the festival’s programming.

 

The SEEDLINGS programme was first designed by Chong Gua Khee and Faye Lim (Derring-Do Dance), in collaboration with Esplanade’s March On festival programming team. This year, the programme is led by artist and educator, Jasmin Wong. Through SEEDLINGS, Esplanade seeks to nurture a child-centred approach to artistic experiences, enriching the March On festival and fostering meaningful engagement at Singapore’s national performing arts centre.
