Synopsis

Kelana Purba returns for an afternoon of storytelling with themes that touch on respect, open-mindedness, courage and kindness. They will be performing Malay folk songs and nursery rhymes infused with elements of dikir barat. This multifaceted storytelling session explores a wide range of musical styles such as reggae, pop, and Melayu asli, promising an engaging experience filled with humour and joy.

Established in 1990, Kelana Purba is considered to be one of the giants in the dikir barat scene boasting impressive accolades which includes being crowned champions of the prestigious national competition Mega Perdana a whopping seven times. The 80-strong active members are currently made up of experienced seniors as well as effervescent young talents, always ready to put up an entertaining and energetic performance.
