Synopsis

Rediscover the joy of childhood play in Curious Games, where imagination knows no bounds. Led by A Little RAW dancers and instructors Shawn Tan and Matthew Goh, this performance blends movement with memory, drawing inspiration from the timeless childhood games we all loved.

 

As paper balls and aeroplanes spring to life, the audience is invited to join in, moving along and sharing in the nostalgia. Celebrate the creativity and pure joy these simple games can bring in this playful and participatory experience!

Advisory:

No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Artist Information

Matthew Goh

Matthew Goh, a graduate of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a Diploma in Dance (Choreography) and the Best Graduate Award in 2013, is a founding member of RAW Moves. He is known for his inquisitive approach to dance, constantly questioning the definition of dance and movement, while exploring the fringes of what they can encompass.

 

As a dedicated dance educator, Matthew is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment for everyone. In 2020, he completed the ‘Working with Children with Disabilities in and through the Arts’ course by the Social Service Institute and National Arts Council. He continues to inspire and guide children and young adults with diverse needs through the A Little RAW programme.

Shawn Tan

Shawn Tan Kai En, a 26-year-old self-taught dancer with down syndrome, brings a passion for dance and a love for K-pop to the stage. No stranger to the local arts scene, Shawn has been actively performing in theatre and dance productions since 2013.

 

His most recent dance credits include performing at Explore Jurong Lake Gardens 2023, What Simon Didn’t Say (2019), A Green Dot (2018), and What the Tree Sees… (2017) as part of RAW Moves’ inclusive A Little RAW Company. Shawn has also had the honour of working with internationally renowned artists, including French choreographer Jérôme Bel.
