Synopsis

Step into the mesmerising world of odissi, the oldest Indian classical dance form. The dance performance features a traditional repertoire performed by students aged 10 to 14. Experience the beauty of tribhanga and chowka postures, unique to odissi, accompanied by captivating music blending Carnatic and Hindustani styles.

 

The performance includes Mangalcharan, Basanta Pallavi, an Abhinaya piece set to an Oriya song, and concludes with the prayer song Guru Brahma.

From community centres to prestigious venues, Chitrakala Arts’ students have graced stages across Singapore and beyond, captivating audiences with their grace and expressiveness. 

 

Chitrakala Arts also conducts exclusive masterclasses and workshops by renowned artists to enrich the learning experience. Chitrakala Arts’ annual event, Nritya Sangamam – Perform with Purpose, showcases the student talent while leveraging it to give back to society.
