Zhaoze "No Answer Blowin' in the Wind"

Complex, hauntingly poetic compositions that flows from one note to another, much like a Chinese landscape painting: hailing all the way from Guangzhou, China, instrumental post-rock band Zhaoze makes its Singapore debut with its unique, signature sound.  

Centering the delicate sounds of traditional instruments like the guqin (Chinese stringed instrument) and xiao (Chinese vertical flute), Zhaoze’s unorthodox set-up distinguishes the band from the sea of post-rock outfits that exist today. Intense and immersive, their music carries the history and weight of ancient China, married with the contemporary sensibilities of progressive and post-rock. The result is an imaginative sound spectrum that is equally compelling as it is cathartic.
