Enjoy a unique blend of local humour and vocals with Siao Sing Songs, a motley crew of creatives and performers who love putting their own spin on things. They’ll serve up cheeky parodies taking on everything from timeless issues to current affairs, whilst featuring all your favourite tunes, NDP songs, Broadway hits and more!
No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Jane Foo (Accompanist, Music Director)
Jane is a versatile freelance accompanist and music educator. She is the regular pianist for SingTheatre’s musical theatre open mics and Drag Qabaret. She has played for shows such as Little Shop of Horrors (Sing’Theatre), Into The Woods (Pangdemonium), Out-of-Bounds (Fill The Vamp) and The LKY Musical (SRT).
Marcus Cheong (Vocalist)
Marcus is an actor who charms the audience with his sincerity, stage presence and powerful voice. His passion for acting started at age 13 when he joined his secondary school’s drama club, with whom he was cast as the lead in their entry to the Singapore Youth Festival competition. Marcus was a part of Pangdemonium’s Triple Threats Programme in 2017, which sparked his interest in musical theatre. He graduated with BA (First Class Hons) in Musical Theatre at LASALLE College of the Arts and he is currently freelancing as a performer, speech & drama and musical theatre educator. Marcus will be starring in Singapore Theatre Company (STC) The Little Company’s upcoming musical production of Three Little Pigs in July 2024.
Nurulhuda Hassan (Vocalist)
Nurul is an actor and singer who finds immense joy working across a variety of mediums and languages. Her performance credits span musical theatre productions (Sing’theatre’s Little Shop of Horrors, dir. TJ Taylor), (Sing’theatre’s I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!, dir. TJ Taylor), (7/8 Collective's In Pieces, dir. Eleanor Tan), opera (The Opera People’s Der Zwerg, dir. Edith Podesta) and most recently, a rock concert (Sing’theatre’s Au Bout De Mes Rêves). A penchant for language-learning has also led her to perform in Malay, French and German.
Beyond the thrill of traversing various mediums and languages, she especially appreciates the power of theatre, music, and storytelling to bring people together. Nurul is excited to storm the stage next in Wild Rice’s upcoming production, National Day Charade, premiering Jul 2024.
Stephanie Phang (Vocalist)
Stephanie currently navigates life as a singer, lyricist, music educator and host. With a powerful and versatile vocal style that draws influence from pop, musical theatre and Disney, she has worked in the performing arts since 2012.
Selected credits include recording commercial voice-overs for brands such as Starhub, L’Oreal and Volkswagen as well as presenting the Introduction to Harmonising for Esplanade – Theatre on the Bay’s Vocal Focal series. She also made her professional lyricist debut in the original local musical, The Paiseh Pieces, by The Second Breakfast Company and debuted her solo concert Steph Phang x Siao Sing Songs at Esplanade in 2023.
Tiara Yap (Vocalist)
Tiara is an actor and voiceover artist currently based in Singapore. Formerly a creative and cast member at local comedy platform SGAG, Tiara loves that Siao Sing Songs allows her to combine her love for music with her love for writing parodies.
Stage credits include Secondary: The Musical (Checkpoint Theatre), Por Por’s Big Fat Surprise Wedding (Singapore Repertory Theatre), The Wonderful World of Dissocia (Wild Rice), Quest – The White Hare (Toy Factory Productions), The Wedding Pig (The Second Breakfast Company). Television credits include Code of Law and Faculty (MediaCorp Ch5). In the online sphere, she is best known for playing deadpan newscaster Constance Lee in the satirical web series CMI News, as well as reimagining Singaporeans in popular shows of the zeitgeist.
Tiara has trained with Young & Wild (Wild Rice’s award-winning youth ensemble led by Edith Podesta), studied Communication Studies and Drama at Nanyang Technological University, and trained in theatre at Northeastern University, Boston. (IG: @yapitstiara)
Keyon Toh
Keyon, a percussion major at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, engages in musical ensembles while providing professional drum set and percussion instruction to students across age groups. His profound passion for music radiates in his performances.
