Synopsis

Fossil evidence suggests that tea plants existed more than 30 million years ago. We have been reimagining tea since we discovered and first learned to use tea leaves. Today, the geographical origin and processing of a tea greatly affect its economic value and consumer acceptance.

Agarwood is part of Indian culture, highly revered in seminal texts of Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, and Islam.

In line with the Singapore spirit of celebrating multiculturalism, Fort Sanctuary advocates for an extended concept of tea without borders.

Lau Kiat Boon, director of Fort Sanctuary, will share his experience in creating contemporary specialty tea using agarwood during the firing process while paying homage to traditional tea processing techniques.
