Synopsis

Dive deep into the world of jazz with one of the most celebrated young trumpeters of the East-Coast (USA) jazz scene. Aside from being a trumpeter, Marquis is also a composer and bandleader whose comprehensive vision highlights the unity and continuity within the musical heritage of African Americans.

 

Hill’s accolades speak for themselves. Renowned for his comprehensive vision, he seamlessly blends bop, hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music, showcasing the unity and continuity within the musical heritage of African Americans. His critically acclaimed albums, including the latest sensation Modern Flows Vol. II and the breakout project The Way We Play demonstrate his musicianship and interactive dynamics alongside his band.

 

Holding a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in jazz pedagogy, he honed his craft through invaluable experiences with seasoned musicians. His exceptional talent and fluid virtuosity earned him recognition when he emerged victorious at the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz competition in 2014. Since then, Hill has been making waves across the jazz landscape, captivating audiences worldwide.
