Snuff Skool is a one-day workshop that provides insight into Snuff Puppets’ performance style, which merges puppetry and physical theatre, and embraces spontaneous improvisation and group-devised work.
Starting off with a series of exercises to encourage group bonding and break down physical boundaries, participants will then be introduced to Snuff Puppets' large- scale puppets and method of group improvisation, as well as other forms of puppet play. At the end of the workshop, participants will have the chance to perform outdoors in giant puppets for the unsuspecting public.
While Snuff Skool is suitable for all participants ages 14 and above from any background or experience level, it is recommended for artists, arts practitioners, or anyone with a keen interest in outdoor, interactive performance.
Hailing from Australia, Snuff Puppets are an experimental puppet troupe who have been unleashing spectacles worldwide for over 30 years with their giant handmade puppets. The troupe loves breaking down the walls between performer and audience, believing that puppetry allows the performer to shed personal identity and express themselves in a non-verbal performance mode that explores the physicality of communication.
