Flautist Kartik presents an evening of melody on the venu, the Carnatic bamboo flute, with compositions of Patnam Subramanya Iyer, Muthuswami Dikshitar and Dr. N. Ramani in ragams such as Kedaram, Kalyani and Bindumalini. Joining him on stage are Sreeranjani on the violin and Muthu Subramaniam on the mridangam.
Mask-wearing is optional. However, audiences are encouraged to continue to exercise responsibility and caution, such as wearing masks when in crowded places. No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kartik Raghunathan
Kartik Raghunathan is a trained Carnatic flautist as well as a jazz saxophonist and Western classical violinist. He has learnt the flute for the past seven years under the tutelage of Guru V.K. Sivakumar and currently learns the flute under the guidance of Guru Amith Nadig. He has performed in both Singapore and India and was the recipient of the first prize in flute in the 2020 National Indian Music Competition organised by the National Arts Council. He is also learning Carnatic vocal under Guru Ranjani Sivakumar.
Muthu Subramanian
Muthu Subramanian is a mridangam and kanjira artist. He is a disciple of Kalaimamani Sri T.R. Sundaresan and is a B-High graded artist of AIR (All India Radio) Chennai.
Sreeranjani Muthu Subramanian
Sreeranjani Muthu Subramanian is a Carnatic violinist. She is under the tutelage of Guru Nellai Ravindran from the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS). She has been learning Carnatic violin for the past nine years. She completed her SIFAS diploma in September 2021 and has won many competitions locally and internationally. She is also a Year Four Music Student at School Of The Arts Singapore.
