Teresa Cheung Tak-Lan, born Cheung Yuen-yuen, was a child prodigy in the show business of Hong Kong. She was loved for her sweet, round face and her talent as a performing artist through imitation and showmanship at a young age. She joined a song and dance troupe when she was small, and appeared in many films. At ten, she joined HKTVB and was one of the girls’ group, the ‘Four Golden Flowers’, together with Lydia Shum, Liza Wang and Felicia Wong. With them, she performed singing and dance on the hugely popular show, Enjoy Yourself Tonight, and made a TV series featuring the four.
Teresa Cheung rose to fame in Hong Kong through the 1980s on the back of a song that she sang for the TVB series The Good, The Bad And The Ugly. She also sang the main theme for the TV series The Return of the Condor Heroes (1983) and three of its subthemes. Additionally, the main theme songs for the TV series Princess Cheung Ping (1981) and Blood-Stained Intrigue (1986) were sung by her.
This concert will feature a special guest artiste, Johnny Ip. A well-known Hong Kong male singer active since the 1980s, Ip is revered for his renditions of TV drama theme songs, including "The Boy of the Play Class," "Tai Chi Zhang Sanfeng," "Forgetting the Love" (theme song of "True Legend"), and "Difficult to Positive and Evil" (theme song of "You Only Live Twice"), all of which became massive hits etched in the memories of his fans.
Teresa Cheung and Johnny Ip will not only showcase their individual hits but also captivate the audience with special duets. Don't miss this extraordinary musical rendezvous and enjoy an evening of timeless melodies.
