Hailed as “one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century”, don’t miss pianist Yevgeny Sudbin’s return to Singapore! Presented in collaboration with Altenburg Arts, he will perform Rachmaninoff’s popular Second Piano Concerto with OMM, a fitting tribute to the composer on his 150th anniversary.
Celebrating OMM’s 100th concert and 15th anniversary, Music Director Chan Tze Law leads the orchestra through Glinka’s ebullient Overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila, complete with the energetic scales and cantabile themes that concert-goers know and love.
The concert concludes with Elgar’s First Symphony – lauded by Hans Richter, who conducted its premiere, as “the greatest symphony of modern times, written by the greatest composer”. Join us as we explore these giants of romantic heroism. In addition to this concert, Sudbin will be performing a solo recital of music by Haydn, Chopin, Liszt, Scarlatti, Debussy and Scriabin on Thursday 1 June at the Victoria Concert Hall.
