Chung Yoo-Jung - Violin
The violinist Chung Yoo-Jung graduated from Yewon Arts Middle School, Seoul Arts High School and Seoul National University. She obtained a diploma at the Universität der Künste Berlin (University of the Arts in Berlin) and attended a professional musician course at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz (Cologne University of Music).
Recognised for her musical talent at an early stage, she won the Yewon Competition Prize and the First Prize of the Incheon Philharmonic Youth Competition. She also participated at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland and the Brzewsky Music Camp in Poland while attending Seoul National University, and performed as a member of the Sori String Quartet. She also held solo concerts in Berlin, Aachen, Dusseldorf, and Hannover in Germany.
Since returning to Korea in 2001, she has served as the Concertmistress of MY Chamber Piano Quartet, Eurasian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gyeonggi Philharmonic. She previously served as an assistant to Professor Charles-André Linale, a member of Neuss Chamber Orchestra in Germany, and as a lecturer at Sangmyung, Konkuk, and Ewha Woman’s University.
Choi Jee-Ahn - Piano
After completing her studies at the Seoul Music and Arts High School, pianist Choi Jee-Ahn graduated from the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin (University of the Arts in Berlin) with excellent grades. She also studied at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (University of Music Detmold) and subsequently moved to Italy where she graduated with the highest grades from the Conservatorium Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, Italy.
Her musical achievements include First Prizes at the Music Spring and Autumn Competitions and the Princess Diana Special Award at the New Port Piano International Competition in the United Kingdom. She was also one of a very select few pianists nominated by the Bocchi Cultural Foundation of Italy (Pianist Festival) to perform pieces from Beethoven and Mozart in the Sala Verdi at the Conservatorium Giuseppe Verdi in Milan.
After returning to Korea, she performed several solo and chamber music concerts in Daegu, Pohang and Gumi, as well as the Seoul Arts Center and Kumho Art Hall in Seoul. In addition, she has been playing regularly with the Daegu Philharmonic Orchestra, Pohang Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyeongsangbuk-do Hyang, Eurasian Philharmonic Orchestra and Tutti Ensemble Orchestra. She is currently teaching at Sangmyung University and was previously visiting professor at Ulsan University. Prior to that she also taught at Yewon Arts Middle School, Seoul Arts High School, Sunhwa Middle School and Dankook University.
