A native of South Korea, pianist Soyoon Yoon began her piano studies at age four. After moving to New Zealand, Dr. Yoon was admitted at the University of Auckland where she completed her Bachelor and Bachelor of Music Honours in Piano Performance in 2007 under Dr. Rae de Lisle and Dr. Sharon Vogan. Shortly afterwards, Dr. Yoon earned a master’s degree (MM) in Piano Performance and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Pedagogy at Texas Tech under Dr. Lora Deahl. Dr. Yoon is a recipient of the AT&T Chancellor’s fellowship which awarded to outstanding students during her master’s and doctorate in the United States. She served as an exclusive accompanist and teaching assistant Group Piano Class and Studio Class. In addition to this, she has been nominated to Phi Kappa Lambda and selected for the member of Golden Key International Honour for the top 15% of students on campus. She has performed in piano solo recital, lecture recital, and chamber music concerts across the US, New Zealand, England, and Korea, and now she is currently working as a faculty member at Chung-Ang University, Baek-Seok University, and Seoul Cyber University, and working at Korea Piano Pedagogy Association as a member of board of director.
South Korean pianist Kwanseop Shim received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. He also studied with Dr. Solomon Mikowsky at Manhattan School of Music where he obtained his second master’s degree (MM). He also received his doctorate degree (DMA) at the Boston University, under the supervision of Professor Gila Goldstein. His playing has been described as "Coexistence of extreme lyricism and energetic virtuosity". As a Recitalist, Dr. Shim became an 'Artist in Residence' of Brandywine Institute of Westchester University in Pennsylvania in 2012. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2014, and performed in many concerts in Korea, US, Spain, and Czech. Being an active chamber musician, he has performed at major venues in the US, Korea and Japan. Dr. Shim participated as a jury member of Asia International Piano Academy and Festival Competition, Sungjung Music Competition, NANPA Concours, Sunhwa Music Competition, Korea-Young Artist International Music Competition, and Gwangju City Music Competition, among many others. He is currently working as a faculty member at Yonsei University, Sun-Hwa Arts High School, Kaywon Intermediate and High School of Arts in Korea, and working at Korea Piano Pedagogy Association, The Piano Society of Korea.
