The oud, also commonly known as the gambus, is an instrument has a long history within the Malay traditional music of Southeast Asia. It was among the many arts and cultural elements brought along by 15th century Middle Eastern traders to the region. Singapore Oudists, an online community of oud players and artists, will bring you on a musical journey with a variety of instrumental tunes from the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Gemadah – Traditional Malay Music Festival is a one-day event presented by the Singapore Malay Traditional Musicians Association, in collaboration with Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay as part of Pentas.
