The Philippines, famed for its citizens’ singing prowess and vibrant karaoke culture, is also home to many choral groups. Did you know that even their banks or military have choir groups? In this episode, Filipino conductor, composer, and music educator Eudenice Palaruan shares insights into how the country’s history has shaped its choral practices and the blended nature of the form, while also sharing some contemporary singing techniques!

This episode also features members from the Singapore Symphony Youth Choir.

Eudenice Palaruan is the Choral Director of the Singapore Symphony Chorus and a multi-talented chorister, composer, arranger, and music educator. In this episode of Fact or Fiction, he lends us his expertise on Filipino Choral Music.
